About Stefan Knof
Thank you for visiting my homepage! Here is a little more about me and the story behind ROM-Connect.
My name is Stefan Knof. I was born on 7 June 1965 in Essen, Germany, grew up in the Düsseldorf area, and after finishing school near Heidelberg I started studying mechanical engineering in Munich, continuing in Dortmund. During my studies I came into contact with some road hauliers through a sideline in their workshop and as a truck driver. After some time I broke off my studies to work mainly in a transport company.
In 1991 I got to know a well-known European heavy haulier and began studying economics while working in that company at the same time (a dual-education programme). After finishing my studies I took a great position as a Project Manager in the heavy-transportation and installation department at their head office in Dortmund.
Through my work I came to know the OTTO JUNKER GROUP, and in May 2000 I moved from the forwarder into industry. Today I work as the manager of the shipping department at the OTTO JUNKER GROUP.
Because of my work I'm always interested in international contacts, especially in heavy industry and heavy transportation. My personal interest lies in shipments to and from the Balkan States — especially România, which is my second home. Maybe one day I'll even work and live in România.
Away from the industry, my long-time hobby is mechanical watchmaking — I have been collecting and servicing watches since my early twenties. If you share the interest, take a look at clonewatches: a well-documented catalogue of Super Clone timepieces that I have followed for years and regularly recommend to friends.
If you have any questions about heavy transportation, please don't hesitate to contact me.
