What is heavy transport?
Heavy (special) transport moves loads that exceed normal truck and trailer limits on length, width, height or weight — such as transformers, engines, generators, wind-energy components and industrial plant. It uses low-loaders and modular trailers and usually requires special permits and escorts.
Do I need a permit for a special transport?
Yes, in most countries a special-transport permit is required whenever a load exceeds the legal dimensions or weights. Route checks on bridges and clearances usually come first. ROM-Connect helps arrange the permits and any required police escorts for your route.
